Rendering Working Bee

Early start on Monday morning with steady rainfall. Peter was there to help Frank and Hardy with the first coat.
Work proceeded quickly from the south wall to the west wall.
Happy Dinner guests after a hard days work.
Carsten mixing the render. We've put 6 tons of sand and 500Kg of Lime into the mixer over these 4 days of the working bee!
Making progress along the north face.
On Wednesday we started applying the top coat.
Tina loved the 'sponging' of the render to make it nice and smooth.
Tuesday and Wednesday we had Grant and Peter helping out! Thanks so much guys!
Thursday we were all completely exhausted from 3 days in a row with 10 hours each. Luckily John came with fresh energy and helpe
... by working with silent eficiency to complete the top coat all round to the south face again!
Hardy floating carefully around the windows
It took a big effort (and lots of beer) to get going ...
... but at the end we finished it all on Thursday evening!
The finished product from the south/west ...
... from north/west ...
... and from north/east. We are very happy with how it all looks now! Now we have to wait for a month before we can paint the ho

Finally almost 4 months after the wallraising did we put on the final coat of render to make our house beautiful and better secured from rain.
